Wendy's quilt was made for her
when she was quite ill. It is a rag
finish quilt. The top picture is
the front and the lower picture is
the back. Wendy has since
passed away.
This is Brownie's quilt and it was
made after he died from his many
shirts - including the brand new
Brownie was my wonderful
husband for a little over 40
years. He was an avid fan of the
comic strips. While on a fabric
hunt, I about died right there on
the spot when I found some
Blondie fabric. He would have
loved that and I love snuggling up
under it. It warms my soul as
well as my body.
This is Bill's quilt and is also
made partially from his shirts
after he died. Bill is married to
Brownie's sister, Faye. This quilt
along with the backing has a
wonderful story. Faye sent me
all of Bill's shirts. I sewed the
top and then mailed it along with
the backing and binding to Bill's
cousin. Letha quilted it by hand.
So, both sides of Bill's family
have created this wonderful
bedspread size quilt in his honor
and in his loving memory.
This is Gary's quilt. It is also a
rag quilt. The top is the front
and the bottom is the back. This
is a lap robe size made
specifically for Gary to keep his
legs warm when he was in his
wheelchair. Gary has since
passed away.
